Insulating a flat roof isn’t as simple as laying wool or installing thermal insulation to ceiling. This method risks the introduction of thermal bridging, which can cause cold spots, where damp could potentially become an issue.
How Is It Installed?
Retrofitting insulation to a poorly or uninsulated flat roof is a task that should only be left to the experts, such as the team here at URP Group. The preferred method and the method we use here is the warm roof deck system, where the insulation is placed above the structure and below the weatherproof barrier. A new weatherproof barrier is then laid and UV coat applied to bring protection for years to come.
Is Installation Disruptive?
Since we will be working in the interior space of your home, a degree of disruption is inevitable. Nevertheless, we will do our best to minimize disruptions and will thoroughly clean the space upon completion of the project. The length and scope of the project are dependent on the size and number of rooms you would like to internally insulate.

The Government’s ECO scheme aims to improve the energy efficiency of households, reduce home heating bills, and minimize a household’s carbon footprint. As part of this scheme, you could get your internal wall insulation fully funded using the home insulation grant. The scheme is free to apply to and applications are open to everyone, claiming benefits or otherwise.
